LEE COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — Two men have been arrested after authorities uncovered a significant stash of fentanyl, firearms, and other narcotics across three Florida residences.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) announced the arrests of Michael Christopher Cortez, 30, and Joshua Wilson, 38, in connection to a large-scale drug trafficking investigation that began in December 2024.
Detectives focused on three homes tied to the suspects and, after developing probable cause, secured search warrants. Before executing the raids, LCSO conducted traffic stops on both men and took them into custody for questioning.
The searches revealed:
365 grams of fentanyl
Additional drugs: heroin, MDMA, and Oxycodone
11 firearms, including 2 reported stolen
Ammunition and drug paraphernalia
Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno reiterated his zero-tolerance stance:
“I’ve said it before and I will say it again – I have zero tolerance for this poison on our streets.”
