SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police have arrested Michael Allen Loving, a 38-year-old man accused of carrying out multiple jewelry thefts and robberies across the city while facing at least 10 outstanding felony warrants.
Loving was taken into custody on Tuesday, less than a month after he allegedly stole jewelry from a South Side H-E-B store and struck a person with his vehicle while attempting to flee the scene.
According to SAPD, Loving now faces several charges, including aggravated robbery and theft offenses involving losses estimated between $30,000 and $150,000. During a press conference, police described him as a “career criminal” who repeatedly targeted malls and pawn shops throughout San Antonio.
Investigators said Loving often smashed display cases to gain access to jewelry and showed little effort to conceal his identity during the crimes. At the time of his arrest, officers reportedly found him in possession of a sledgehammer and a rock, tools believed to be used in the thefts.
Police have not yet disclosed the exact location of his arrest or the total number of businesses impacted. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to determine whether additional charges may be filed.
