BATON ROUGE, La. — Miguel Scott, 18, of Metairie, was arrested by Baton Rouge Police for allegedly using a stolen debit card to charge $1,700 in unauthorized transactions.

Authorities said the card was reported stolen on July 12, 2025, after Scott and his brother reportedly found it on top of a gas pump at a Port Allen gas station. Investigators allege Scott used the card for multiple purchases, including renting a hotel room at Wood Springs Suites on Airline Highway, where both Scott and his brother’s names were listed.

Scott faces theft charges and 15 counts of access device fraud. He was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on Dec. 30, 2025. Police are continuing their investigation.
