Merolin Jimenez, Jenifer Rivera Charged in Walmart Theft

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) — Two women were arrested Thursday afternoon for allegedly stealing merchandise from a Walmart store in Mobile, authorities said.

Officers with the Mobile Police Department responded to the Walmart on East Interstate 65 Service Road South around 2:50 p.m. following a report of theft in progress. Upon arrival, police found two women attempting to leave the store with unpaid merchandise.

The suspects, identified as Merolin Jimenez, 25, and Jenifer Rivera, 23, were taken into custody and charged with organized retail theft. Both were booked into the Mobile County Metro Jail.

According to jail records, Jimenez and Rivera have court appearances scheduled next week.

The investigation is ongoing, and police have not released further details on the value or type of items stolen.
