OBILIQ, Kosovo — Meriton Mjekiqi and Rinor Mjekiqi have been arrested in connection with a case of serious bodily harm that reportedly took place on July 11, 2025.
According to information obtained by Sinjali, the brothers had been on the run since the day of the incident. However, they voluntarily reported to the Obiliq Police Station at around 3:00 p.m. on July 22, where they were interviewed in the presence of their defense attorneys.
The Kosovo Police confirmed the arrests in their 24-hour crime report, stating:
“On 22.07.2025, two Kosovar male suspects were arrested, who allegedly physically attacked the Kosovar male victim on 11.07.2025.”
The victim reportedly suffered serious bodily injuries as a result of the assault.
Authorities have identified Meriton and Rinor Mjekiqi as the primary suspects, and they are currently being held on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of ‘Serious Bodily Injury’ under Kosovo law.
The investigation is ongoing.
