KISSIMMEE, Fla. — A 22-year-old man, Melvin Echevarria-Alvarez, has been arrested following an investigation by the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office into child sexual abuse material.

The probe began earlier this month after a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, prompting detectives from the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) unit to identify Echevarria-Alvarez as a suspect on July 16.

He was arrested two days later and taken to the Osceola County Jail. A search warrant executed at his apartment in the Vineland Landings complex uncovered significant evidence.

Authorities charged Echevarria-Alvarez with 96 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material, two counts involving computer-generated abuse images, and two counts related to animal content. He is held on one charge without bond, with the other 99 charges carrying bond amounts totaling nearly $500,000.

The investigation remains active, and officials urge anyone with additional information to contact the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.
