SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. — Deputies arrested a woman on fentanyl trafficking and drug possession charges following a search of her home, the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Melissa G. Horton, 45, was charged with trafficking in fentanyl and possession of methamphetamine. She was taken to the SCSO Detention Center.

Authorities said the search took place Friday at Horton’s residence on Rast Street, where illegal narcotics were discovered.

Horton was given a $40,000 bond, but she is not eligible for release due to unresolved hold reasons, officials added.
