MENANDS, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The Menands Police Department has arrested two individuals accused of being involved in a scam targeting seniors. Melissa Christie-Cameron, 30, and Naphtorley Wilson, 29, both from Albany, were taken into custody following an investigation that spanned several months.
The suspects are reportedly connected to both the Capital Region and Jamaica, with Wilson also having ties to New York City. After being arraigned in Menands Village Court, they were released with scheduled future court appearances.
Authorities indicated that additional arrests may be forthcoming as the investigation continues. Meanwhile, the Menands Police Department has issued safety tips for the public to help prevent falling victim to scams:
