BAKER, La. – A woman has been arrested and charged with aggravated arson after allegedly setting fire to a home in Baker earlier this year.
According to the Baton Rouge Fire Department, Melderkia Foster was taken into custody on Monday in connection to a May 28 fire that damaged a residence on Sandra Drive.
Investigators determined the blaze was intentionally set, causing approximately $1,500 in damage. The fire occurred in the early morning hours, but no injuries were reported.
Foster was arrested at her home and booked on aggravated arson charges.
The incident remains under investigation.
