Mehatpur Police Arrest Multiple Drug Peddlers With Intoxicating Tablets

Five arrested with over 400 tablets under NDPS Act in Punjab

The Mehatpur police arrested two drug peddlers, Vishal Bawa, alias Viki, of Khurampur village, and Gurmit Singh of Beetalan village, for allegedly selling intoxicating tablets. A total of 110 tablets were recovered from their possession. A case has been registered against them under Sections 22, 61, and 85 of the NDPS Act at the Nakodar Sadar police station.

In related operations, the Bilga police arrested Resham Singh of Burj Hassan with 160 intoxicating tablets. The Shahkot police also arrested Darshan Singh of Baupur village with 16 tablets. Additionally, three other peddlers, including a woman, were detained with 139 tablets.

The combined efforts have led to the seizure of over 400 intoxicating tablets and the arrest of multiple suspects involved in drug peddling across the region.
