HENDERSON COUNTY, Texas — Two women, Megan Chapman, 36, and Shannon Boyle, 47, both of Eustace, were arrested Saturday after attempting to smuggle illegal drugs into the Henderson County Jail, authorities said.
Investigators from the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) had been looking into narcotics trafficking within the county when they received information that Chapman and Boyle planned to deliver drugs to the jail.
Law enforcement intercepted the women with a drug drop disguised as a tube of eczema cream. Inside were multiple small, individually packaged balloons containing suspected cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, and various illegal pills. Authorities believe the drugs were intended for two inmates, Jessy Pierce, 38, and Joshua Sallings, 45, both of Mabank.
During interviews, Boyle admitted to carrying methamphetamine and a glass pipe in her purse, while Chapman admitted to possessing additional drugs at her home. A search of Chapman’s residence on County Road 2918 in Eustace uncovered meth, marijuana, THC gummies, and tools used to conceal the drugs.
Chapman and Boyle were charged with manufacturing and delivering a controlled substance, engaging in organized criminal activity, and introducing a prohibited substance into a correctional facility. Boyle also faces charges for possession of a controlled substance. Chapman was booked with a $300,000 bond, while Boyle’s bond was set at $250,000.
Pierce and Sallings were also charged with the same offenses in addition to their existing charges.
