Meenappa Revanasiddappa Bennur, a resident of Kalagi in Kalaburagi, was arrested on charges of stealing Rs11 lakh from his aunt, Siddamma Malleshappa Ratakal’s residence. The police managed to recover Rs9.3 lakh from him during the investigation.
According to Superintendent of Police Addur Srinivasulu, during a press conference on Sunday, the accused allegedly took the money from his aunt’s house. The police were able to recover a substantial portion of the stolen amount, amounting to Rs9.3 lakh.
Further investigations revealed that Meenappa Bennur gave Rs1.70 lakh of the stolen money to his brother, Anil, who is yet to be arrested. The authorities are continuing their efforts to apprehend Anil and further investigate the details surrounding the theft.
