In a chilling domestic crime, Kadur police have arrested Meenakshi (55) for allegedly conspiring with her lover, Pradeep (33), to murder her husband, Subrahmanya, in a plot fueled by an illicit affair and financial disputes.
The incident dates back to May 31, when Subrahmanya, a tailor residing in Kote Layout, was reportedly lured by Pradeep and his associates. He was subsequently murdered on the outskirts of Chikkamagaluru, and his body set ablaze in an attempt to destroy evidence.
Shockingly, Meenakshi filed a missing complaint on June 2, pretending her husband had disappeared, while she communicated with Pradeep through his mother’s phone to avoid suspicion.
Following intensified investigation, Kadur police arrested Pradeep and his accomplices, Siddesh and Vishwas, by June 8. During interrogation, Pradeep confessed that the killing was motivated by fear of exposure of the affair and financial disagreements.
After nearly two months of inquiry, police confirmed Meenakshi’s pivotal role in orchestrating the murder, and she was subsequently arrested. All four accused are now in custody, facing charges in a case that has left the local community shocked.
