Mckenzi Finn, 20, was arrested Monday evening after discharging a firearm at a vehicle leaving an adult living facility in the Hill ‘N Dale community, according to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called to Hillendale Cares on Frampton Avenue around 4:50 p.m. after receiving a 911 call reporting the incident. Upon arrival, they took Finn into custody.
The facility manager informed authorities that Finn became upset after the bus driver told him he could not take him to the store due to another scheduled pickup. In response, Finn was asked to clean his room while the staff sought alternative transportation.
However, as the bus driver was leaving the premises, Finn emerged from the garage area with a firearm and fired three shots in the direction of the bus. Fortunately, the driver was unharmed, and the bus sustained no damage.
After the shooting, Finn ran back inside the facility. Deputies later executed a search warrant and found a firearm hidden in the ceiling of a common-area bathroom and ammunition in Finn’s bedroom.
Finn, a convicted felon with a lengthy criminal history, is now facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault, discharging a firearm in public, tampering with evidence, and possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon. He is being held at the Hernando County Detention Center with a $26,000 bond.
