ATMORE, AL — Four individuals, including a McDavid, Florida woman, were arrested during a recent drug raid executed by the Atmore Police Department’s Special Response Team.
Authorities say the operation took place at approximately 8:46 a.m. at a residence on Highway 31, targeting 35-year-old Matthew McGhee of Atmore, who was wanted on an outstanding first-degree escape warrant.
After forcibly entering the home, officers took McGhee into custody. While inside, narcotics were observed in plain view, prompting investigators to secure a second search warrant, according to APD.
During the expanded search, police seized several dozen grams of marijuana, methamphetamine, hydrocodone pills, and a variety of other substances yet to be identified. Drug ingestion tools and a firearm were also recovered.
McGhee now faces multiple charges, including:
Possession of a controlled substance
Possession of marijuana first degree
Possession of drug paraphernalia

Nina Simmons, 38, of McDavid, FL — charged with:
Two counts of possession of a controlled substance
Possession of marijuana first degree
Possession of drug paraphernalia

Brian Ledkins, 43, of Flomaton — charged with:
Possession of a controlled substance
Possession of marijuana first degree
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Certain persons forbidden to possess firearms
Raven Hightower, 24, also of Flomaton — charged with:
Possession of marijuana first degree
Possession of drug paraphernalia
All four individuals were transported to the Escambia County Detention Center. Authorities confirmed that the seized substances have been sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for analysis.
The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be filed depending on lab results.
