OWENSBORO, Ky. (WBKO) – A routine police response to a firearm discharge in Owensboro led to the discovery of thousands of fentanyl pills and multiple arrests, authorities reported.
Shot-Fired Call Leads to Drug Bust
On Monday night, Owensboro patrol officers responded to a firearm discharge at a residence on the 1700 block of Alexander Avenue.
Witnesses reported that 20-year-old Max Bellamy had fired a gun inside the residence. After processing the scene, police determined that Bellamy had negligently discharged the firearm while handling it.
During the investigation, officers noticed evidence of suspected drug activity, prompting them to obtain search warrants and launch a separate drug investigation. Owensboro Police Street Crimes Unit detectives assisted in executing the search.
Major Drug Seizure & Arrests
Authorities discovered over 5,000 suspected fentanyl pills, along with methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
As a result, three men were arrested and charged:

Discharging a Weapon (City Ordinance Violation)
Trafficking Controlled Substance, 1st Offense (Fentanyl Derivatives) (Enhanced Charge)
Trafficking Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense (>2g Methamphetamine)
Drug Paraphernalia – Buy/Possess
Justin Bellamy, 21, of Owensboro
Trafficking Controlled Substance, 1st Offense (Fentanyl Derivatives)
Drug Paraphernalia – Buy/Possess
Blane Noffsinger, 20, of Owensboro
