WINCHESTER, Tenn. — A man accused of stealing a truck from Home Depot on Wednesday was arrested following a brief police pursuit, according to the Winchester Police Department (WPD).
Officers responded to reports of a stolen vehicle around 12:30 p.m. and learned that a 2006 white Ford F-350 had been taken from the store’s parking lot. Authorities said the suspect fled in the stolen truck toward Tullahoma.
Police later identified the suspect as Maurice Redmond. Investigators determined that Redmond had arrived at Home Depot in a red Honda coupe, which he allegedly left behind when he took the truck.
Using an Automated License Plate Reader system, officers tracked the stolen truck entering Tullahoma. WPD coordinated with the Tullahoma Police Department, which located the vehicle and arrested Redmond after a short chase.
Further investigation revealed that the red Honda left at Home Depot had also been reported stolen out of Chattanooga.
Redmond was booked into the Coffee County Jail on charges out of Tullahoma and is expected to face additional charges in Franklin County related to the truck theft.
