GREENSBORO, N.C. — UPDATE (Feb. 16) — Greensboro police have arrested 64-year-old Mattie Lee Noreiga in connection with a stabbing incident on Peale Terrace that left one person with life-threatening injuries.
According to court records, Noreiga allegedly stabbed the victim in the chest. She has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and misdemeanor domestic violence. Noreiga is being held at the Guilford County Jail under a $25,000 secured bond.
Greensboro police reported that officers responded at 6:52 p.m. Sunday to the 1900 block of Peale Terrace following a report of an aggravated assault. Upon arrival, officers found the victim suffering from life-threatening injuries, and the person was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Police have not released the victim’s identity or details about what led to the assault. The investigation remains ongoing.
