MONTGOMERY COUNTY, NY (WRGB) — Four individuals face multiple charges after allegedly stealing over $1,500 worth of merchandise from a Target store in Amsterdam earlier this month, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The suspects include 53-year-old Matthew Richards of Ilion; 44-year-old Donald Terzi, 39-year-old Tiffany Terzi, and 66-year-old Amy Steele, all from Herkimer. They face charges such as grand larceny in the fourth degree, conspiracy in the fifth degree, and petit larceny.

Authorities responded to a larceny in progress at the Target on State Highway 30 around 2:52 PM on October 13, 2025. Although the suspects initially fled, patrol officers located their vehicle traveling southbound on the same highway.

Investigators linked the group to two separate retail theft incidents at the same Target store — one on October 5, involving stolen goods valued at $738.94, and another on October 13, with items worth $843.01. Stolen merchandise included small kitchen appliances, bedding, clothing, beverages, and electronic accessories.

Amy Steele and Tiffany Terzi were released on appearance tickets. Donald Terzi and Matthew Richards, both with prior convictions and pending cases, were held for arraignment and remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility.
