Matthew Ray Long, Autumn Jenkins Arrested in Drug, Theft Case

Cherokee County pair charged with meth trafficking, ID theft

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ala. (WBMA) — Two individuals were arrested following a major drug and theft investigation in Cherokee County, Alabama.

On executing a search warrant at a residence in Leesburg, authorities arrested 43-year-old Matthew Ray Long and 28-year-old Autumn Cheyenne Jenkins. The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that both suspects face multiple serious charges, including:

Trafficking methamphetamine

Three counts of receiving stolen property (1st degree)

Receiving stolen property (2nd degree)

Trafficking in stolen identities

Unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia

Additionally, Matthew Long was charged with possession of a firearm by a person legally forbidden to own one.

The search warrant led to the discovery of a significant amount of illegal narcotics along with multiple stolen items. Investigators say the arrests stemmed from ongoing efforts to recover stolen property and disrupt local drug activity.

Both suspects are currently in custody, and the investigation remains active.
