Matthew Monthie Pleads Guilty in Fatal Bethlehem Crash

Clifton Park man faces 10 years after fatal crash plea

29-year-old Matthew Monthie of Clifton Park appeared in Albany County Court on Tuesday and accepted a plea agreement related to a deadly car crash on May 1, 2024. The accident, which occurred on Route 85 in Bethlehem, claimed the life of a 53-year-old woman from Selkirk.

Monthie admitted to charges of second-degree manslaughter and driving while intoxicated in connection with the fatal incident. He now faces a prison sentence of up to 10 years, with his sentencing hearing scheduled for March 4, 2025.
