Two Belgrade residents were arrested and charged with drug trafficking after a raid uncovered fentanyl and other pharmaceuticals at their home.

On Thursday, authorities arrested 27-year-old Matthew Lyons and 34-year-old Maryellen Remington, both of Belgrade, following an undercover operation that lasted two months. The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency (MDEA) reported that undercover agents had been purchasing fentanyl, methamphetamine, and crack cocaine from Lyons at his residence at 151 Knowles Road.

During a search of the home on Thursday, authorities seized 123.7 grams of fentanyl along with an assortment of prescription drugs.

Both suspects were taken to the Kennebec County Jail. Remington is being held without bail, while Lyons has been granted bail set at $8,000. The MDEA also noted that Lyons has a prior conviction for unlawful drug trafficking in 2023.
