Matthew Haws Arrested in Varick Domestic Violence Case

Facing charges for violating protection order, child endangerment

VARICK, N.Y. – A Varick man is facing several serious charges after a domestic violence incident on Wednesday afternoon.

Matthew Haws, 38, of State Route 336, was arrested by Seneca County deputies around 1:00 p.m. following a reported domestic dispute. Authorities say the incident involved a violation of an order of protection, along with property damage committed in front of a child.

Haws is now charged with:

Endangering the Welfare of a Child

Criminal Contempt in the First Degree

Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree

Aggravated Family Offense

He was arraigned in Seneca County CAP Court. No further details about bail or future court dates have been released.
