CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Matthew David Konen, 35, has been arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder for the January 2021 shooting deaths of his wife, Rachel Konen, and her father, David Rodgers.

On Wednesday, May 14, Konen was apprehended in Sumner County and transported to the Montgomery County Jail following an indictment by a Montgomery County Grand Jury. His bond has been set at $1,000,000.

Konen is accused of fatally shooting his wife Rachel and father-in-law David, whose bodies were discovered in a home on Westwood Drive in Clarksville in January 2021.

The Clarksville Police Department presented evidence to the Grand Jury, resulting in the sealed indictment. Both counts of the indictment allege that on or about January 20, 2021, Matthew Konen intentionally and with premeditation killed both Rachel and David.

This case remains under investigation as Konen awaits further proceedings in court.
