Matthew Berman Charged in $20K Golf Galaxy Burglary

Bronx man arrested for Norwalk theft, linked to NY golf store cases

NORWALK, Conn. (WTNH) — A New York man has been arrested for allegedly stealing more than $20,000 worth of merchandise from a Golf Galaxy store in Norwalk earlier this year.

Matthew Berman, 41, of the Bronx, was taken into custody Wednesday and charged with first-degree burglary, first-degree larceny, and second-degree criminal mischief.

According to Norwalk Police, Berman is believed to be connected to a series of similar burglaries at golf retailers throughout the New York area. New York State Police assisted Norwalk investigators in identifying and apprehending him.

Berman’s bond has been set at $200,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on July 9.
