City police in Mattancherry arrested two men on Sunday night in connection with synthetic drugs possession.
The first arrest was C R Xavier, 32, from Rameswaram. Police recovered 0.32g of MDMA, Rs 16,000 in cash, and the vehicle he was driving.
Further investigation led authorities to Jacob Thomas alias Tony, a resident of Mundamveli. From his residence, police seized 27.87g of MDMA and Rs 2,03,100 in cash.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of C R Santhosh and Anand K P.
Both accused were presented in court and remanded. Thoppumpady police continue to investigate the source and network of the drugs.
