KENNESAW, Ga. — Two men were arrested in connection with multiple vehicle break-ins at Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park. Matias Gutierrez, 26, from Miami, and Edgardo Cadiz, 33, of Marietta, were apprehended in one of the park’s parking areas following a joint operation involving park rangers and local law enforcement.

Both men face several charges, including entering autos and financial transaction card fraud, related to their alleged use of stolen credit cards taken from the targeted vehicles.

Gutierrez is currently being held on an immigration detainer, and both suspects remain in Cobb County Jail.

Authorities noted a recent surge in theft incidents at the park, especially during peak visiting times, and said the investigation into these crimes is ongoing.
