WILLISTON, ND (KXNET) — Mashoni Shawnice Austin, a woman from Williston, faces two felony charges following an assault and robbery at an afterparty on June 29.
According to the Williston Police Department, Austin was present when officers arrived at the scene and initially claimed she witnessed the attack. She also stated that she recovered the victim’s stolen phone.
The victim reported being blindsided and attacked outside an apartment complex, losing consciousness during the assault. He feared for his life and described the attackers as two women and a man, with one woman matching Austin’s description.
Officers obtained a search warrant and found a wallet on Austin matching the victim’s description. A search of the apartment also uncovered suspected psilocybin mushrooms, marijuana, and related paraphernalia.
Austin was arrested and charged with robbery and aggravated assault—both Class C felonies. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 30, with a jury trial set for November 3.
Additionally, another woman residing at the apartment was taken into custody on drug-related charges.
