Mary Garcia-Vasquez Arrested for Aggravated Identity Fraud in Douglas

Woman Allegedly Stole Missouri Resident’s Identity for Employment

A 26-year-old woman from Douglas, Mary Garcia-Vasquez, was arrested and charged with aggravated identity fraud after allegedly stealing the identity of a Missouri resident. The victim, a resident of Nixa, Missouri, contacted the Douglas Police Department on April 11, 2025, after discovering that someone had used her personal information for fraudulent purposes.

According to the investigation report, Garcia-Vasquez, who worked at a local industry, had used the victim’s social security number to gain employment. Following the complaint, officers tracked down Garcia-Vasquez to her home in Douglas.

On April 14, 2025, officers arrived at her residence and arrested Garcia-Vasquez. She was charged with aggravated identity fraud and transported to the Coffee County Jail. Garcia-Vasquez was later released on bond. The investigation into the crime continues.
