OKLAHOMA CITY, OK — A woman from the Oklahoma City metro area has been charged with embezzlement after authorities say she stole over $14,000 from the Girl Scouts of Western Oklahoma. Mary Ford, 37, worked as an accounting coordinator for the organization from August 2021 to September 2024.

During her tenure, Ford was responsible for various financial duties, including vendor communications, cookie sales transactions, and bill payments. Court documents reveal that Ford was provided a company credit card for business use only. However, investigators say she used the card for personal expenses, including purchases on Amazon and sending $1,486 via Venmo to her mother.

As part of the investigation, Ford reportedly wrote an apology letter to the council and has agreed to repay the full amount she embezzled. She now faces one count of Embezzlement over $1,000.
