by Sophia Bennett

A mid-afternoon police response in West Palm Beach, Florida, resulted in the arrest of a man facing multiple charges, authorities said.

The suspect, Martavius Lee Dawkins, was taken into custody on January 4, 2026, under Report No. 457919. He was booked by the West Palm Beach Police Department on suspicion of petit theft, including a prior-conviction enhancement, another petit theft charge for property valued between $100 and $750, a municipal ordinance violation, and fraud by impersonation for allegedly giving a false identity to an officer during the encounter.

Police did not immediately release details about the location of the alleged offenses, the property involved, or the circumstances that led to Dawkins’ arrest. No injuries were reported.

The case will be forwarded to the State Attorney’s Office to determine whether formal charges will be filed. Authorities emphasized that all allegations are accusations, and Dawkins is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
