JUPITER, Fla. — A man was arrested Thursday afternoon in Jupiter on charges of drug possession and alleged possession of stolen property, according to local law enforcement records.

The suspect, Marquis Boyd Leslie, was taken into custody under Report No. 564575, with booking records posted at 12:31 p.m. on Jan. 8, 2026. The Jupiter Police Department listed the charges as possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and illegal possession of stolen property, specifically a shopping or laundry cart.

Authorities identified Leslie as a Black male. No further details were released regarding his date of birth, the exact location of the arrest, or how the alleged offenses were discovered. The type of controlled substance involved was not specified in the booking record.

Under Florida law, possessing controlled substances without a valid prescription carries potential criminal penalties. Additionally, possession of items deemed stolen, including commercial property such as shopping or laundry carts, may result in misdemeanor charges.

As with all arrests, the charges are allegations, and Leslie is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The Boca Raton Tribune will continue monitoring updates as the case proceeds through the judicial system.
