Columbia Man Charged in East Lampeter Township Shooting
A 22-year-old Columbia man, Marquis Angel Aguilera, faces multiple felony charges after allegedly shooting a person in the head early Saturday morning in East Lampeter Township, Pennsylvania.
East Lampeter Township Police responded to a shooting around 2:34 a.m. in the 1900 block of Lincoln Highway East. Officers discovered a victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. The individual was transported to the hospital and remains in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.
Aguilera was arrested shortly after the incident and is charged with felony criminal attempted homicide, two counts of aggravated assault, discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure, and possession of a deadly weapon.
Authorities believe the shooting was an isolated event and that there is no ongoing threat to the public. Aguilera is currently being held in Lancaster County Prison without bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 4.
