Marquel Gatling-Bryant Arrested in Stolen Car Case

Suspect fled Centreville scene, tossed firearm

CENTREVILLE, Va. — A 20-year-old Woodbridge man was arrested after police located him inside a stolen vehicle in Centreville earlier this month.

According to the Fairfax County Police Department, detectives responded around 11:15 a.m. on February 5 to the area of Woodmere Drive and Sequoia Farms Drive following reports of a stolen car. Authorities were alerted by the Prince William County Police Department that a vehicle reported stolen in its jurisdiction had been tracked to the area.

Detectives located the vehicle and observed a person inside. When officers approached, the suspect exited the car and fled on foot but was quickly apprehended.

Police identified the suspect as Marquel Gatling-Bryant, 20, of Woodbridge. During the pursuit, Gatling-Bryant allegedly discarded a firearm, which officers later recovered.

He faces multiple charges, including grand larceny, auto theft, possession of machine guns, three counts of possession of burglarious tools, larceny, obstruction of justice, and carrying a loaded firearm.

Gatling-Bryant was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he is being held without bond.
