Pui Hin Lee arrested after knife‑point street robbery

by Sophia Bennett

Pui Hin Lee, 19, has been charged with robbery by York Regional Police following a knife‑point street-level robbery linked to a fraudulent concert-ticket sale on the Chinese social media platform Redbook.

The incident occurred on Feb. 4 when a woman arranged to meet the seller at a commercial plaza near Apple Creek and Town Centre boulevards in Markham. Police say the suspect allegedly threatened the victim with a knife and demanded money before fleeing in a white 2025 Mercedes‑Benz sedan.

Following an investigation, officers arrested Lee on Feb. 12 and formally charged him with one count of robbery. Authorities have released images of the suspect and are urging anyone who may have had contact with him or additional information about the case to come forward.
