BANGOR, Maine (WGME) – A Bangor man has been charged with four felonies after being arrested in connection with a burglary involving stolen firearms.

Mark Perkins, 31, faces one felony charge of burglary and three felony charges of theft. His arrest came after he was a passenger in a car that was stopped by Bangor police just after 10:00 AM on Wednesday.

According to Bangor Police Sergeant Jason McAmbley, authorities had been searching for Perkins, who was identified as a suspect in the burglary where firearms and other items were stolen.

Following his arrest, Perkins directed police to a home on Ohio Street, where a search warrant was executed later that evening. Police recovered the stolen firearms, along with other items believed to have been taken during additional burglaries in Bangor.

Perkins was taken to the Penobscot County Jail and booked. Authorities say further charges may follow as the investigation continues.
