Mark Nolan Jailed After Pub Attack & Past Firearms Offense

Nolan glassed two students in a violent bar brawl

by Amelia Crawford

Mark Nolan, once caught minding firearms in a cannabis farm, has now been jailed for glassing two students during a violent bar brawl at a Liverpool pub.

The 28-year-old was at Brookhouse pub on Smithdown Road on September 21, 2023, to watch a football match but became violent after drinking up to seven bottles of beer. The altercation erupted when his cousin, Raymond Perry, was accused of inappropriate behavior towards a woman.

Liverpool Crown Court heard that Perry punched a man in the face after being confronted about the accusation. Nolan, of Moss Grove, Toxteth, then ran across the bar and smashed a beer bottle over the victim’s head. Later, as the group left the pub, another man in their party, Shyun Patel, was also attacked.

This isn’t Nolan’s first brush with the law. He was previously jailed in 2009 after police found him minding three firearms while raiding a cannabis farm. Described as a “quiet young man pressured into crime due to debts,” his violent past has now landed him back behind bars.
