Man Arrested Same Day He Was Released from Jail

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Just hours after being released from jail, a Cheyenne man was arrested again on May 30, now facing charges including felony burglary and criminal trespassing.

Mario Fernandez Ramirez was taken into custody by Cheyenne police after allegedly entering private property on the 5000 block of Pineridge Avenue and helping himself to alcoholic beverages from a homeowner’s garage.

According to court documents, a homeowner called police around 4:52 p.m. to report Ramirez for trespassing. She told officers that Ramirez knocked on her front door and tried to access the home using a keypad. After being told to leave, he allegedly entered the backyard through a gate without permission.

When police arrived, they found Ramirez exiting the backyard. He reportedly ignored commands to stop and re-entered the yard, attempting to hide a container of alcohol under a chair. Officers noted that Ramirez appeared intoxicated, with red, watery eyes, slurred speech, and poor balance. Two cans of White Claw were found on the ground, and the back door of the garage was open.

The homeowner stated that she keeps her garage door unlocked and stores alcoholic beverages in a fridge, some of which were now missing. She confirmed that Ramirez did not have permission to enter the property or take anything.

Ramirez told officers he had been released from jail earlier that morning after serving a seven-month sentence and was currently on probation. Court records indicate he had been jailed multiple times in 2024, including for a violation of a protection order and failure to appear.

He now faces charges of:

Felony burglary

Criminal trespass via communication

Interference with a peace officer (no injury)

As of now, Ramirez is presumed innocent unless proven guilty or entering a plea.
