TUCSON, Ariz. — The Tucson Police Department has arrested 48-year-old Mario Bejarano in connection with a series of organized retail thefts involving Home Depot and Lowes stores across Pima County.
Bejarano is facing a total of 25 counts of Organized Retail Theft, 2 counts of Overarching Theft, 1 count of Fraudulent Schemes and Artifices, 1 count of Trafficking in Stolen Property, and drug possession charges. He was booked into the Pima County Jail on August 15, with his bond set at $20,000.
According to police, Bejarano had been stealing high-value items from stores since February 2025, acting alone and transporting the merchandise to his residence. In total, there were 62 thefts from Home Depot and 39 from Lowes, with losses exceeding $56,000.
A search warrant executed at Bejarano’s home revealed a large quantity of stolen merchandise. Some items had already been installed, including kitchen cabinets, countertops, backsplash, and even a fully renovated bathroom, making immediate removal difficult.
Of the non-installed items, Home Depot recovered $20,313 worth of products, while Lowes recovered $6,400. The investigation was a collaborative effort between TPD, Home Depot, and Lowes.
Bejarano is scheduled to appear in court again on August 25.
