OROVILLE, Calif. — A 44-year-old Oroville man was arrested after deputies found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia while serving a felony warrant.
According to the Butte County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received information on Monday, Jan. 26, that a man with an active arrest warrant was in the area of Shenandoah Lane. He was identified as Marcus Toro, 44. Dispatch confirmed Toro had an active felony warrant issued by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
Deputies located Toro inside a vehicle and arrested him without incident. Authorities said a search of his person uncovered methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, with additional paraphernalia found inside the vehicle.
Toro was transported to the Butte County Jail and is facing charges related to the felony warrant, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
BCSO noted that under Proposition 36, increased penalties apply to individuals with two or more prior drug-related convictions, resulting in an additional felony drug charge being added in this case.
