SANTA FE, N.M. – Santa Fe police arrested 34-year-old Marcus Gonzales early Sunday morning after he allegedly broke into a grocery store twice and stole hundreds of dollars’ worth of alcohol.
According to investigators, a witness reported the front door of the Market Street Grocery Store was shattered around 4:00 a.m. Surveillance footage later confirmed that Gonzales broke through the entrance, stole alcohol, and returned about an hour later to steal even more.
Around 7:00 a.m., officers located and arrested Gonzales at a nearby Burger King. During the arrest, police found more than $700 worth of alcohol in his backpack.
This incident follows two other burglaries on Saturday morning: one involving 48-year-old Monica Diaz, who was found inside a locked Speedway, and another with 43-year-old Isaac Vigil, who was caught breaking into an apartment complex.
