MARSHALL, July 11, 2025 — Marcus Donte Moore, 28, was arrested by Marshall Police for allegedly stealing equipment during an active apartment fire on Paula Street.

Marshall Fire Chief David Rainwater confirmed that while firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze, some equipment was taken, interfering with emergency operations. Fortunately, the fire was contained without injuries, thanks in part to functioning smoke detectors.

Moore was booked into Harrison County Jail on multiple charges, including Theft of Property valued between $750 and $2,500, Interference with Public Duties, Failure to Identify, and Escape Causing Bodily Injury.

He is currently on parole for a 2023 conviction involving Theft of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. Though his bond was set at $85,000, Moore remains in custody without release due to parole violations.
