Two Tennessee residents were arrested in Florence County, South Carolina, after leading deputies on a high-speed chase involving a stolen vehicle, authorities confirmed.

According to the Florence County Sheriff’s Office, Mara Ivey of Caryville and Charles Owens of Lafollette were taken into custody on Saturday. Both face charges for possession of a stolen vehicle, while Ivey faces an additional charge of failure to stop for a blue light.

The incident began when deputies received a report of a stolen vehicle from Marion County entering the area. A FLOCK camera alert flagged the car on Highway 378 near Kingsburg, where a deputy attempted a traffic stop. Instead, the driver fled, prompting a chase near New Hope Road and Possum Fork Road.

The pursuit ended when the deputy successfully performed a PIT maneuver, causing the stolen vehicle to roll onto its side. Ivey, who was driving, and Owens were immediately arrested.

Both suspects were booked into the Florence County Detention Center. Ivey was later released on an $8,000 bond, and Owens on a $4,000 bond.
