In a major crackdown on narcotics, the Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested a reputed drug peddler, Maqsood Hussain Khan, on Wednesday, recovering cocaine valued at over Rs10 crore from his rented house in Goripora, Srinagar.
The arrest followed investigations into a case registered in Ganderbal district. Authorities recovered two packets of cocaine-like substances, totaling around one kilogram, during searches conducted on the night between Tuesday and Wednesday.
In addition to the drugs, police seized a vehicle, multiple mobile phones, and other electronic gadgets from Khan’s residence. Officers confirmed that further investigations are underway to trace the source and distribution network of the seized narcotics.
