Mansoor Ahmed, 30, has been sentenced to 26 months in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of sexual assault on the London Underground. He was also placed on the sex offenders register for 10 years.
The court heard how, on September 6, 2020, Ahmed assaulted a woman while she was walking up the stairs at Gloucester Road station. The victim screamed, causing Ahmed to flee the scene. She reported the incident the next day.
Following a public appeal, Ahmed was identified and circulated for questioning.
On November 20, 2020, Ahmed assaulted a second woman at Charing Cross Station. After the assault, he walked away, but the victim immediately reported the incident to British Transport Police officers.
Ahmed was arrested at Charing Cross Station but was initially released under investigation while police continued their inquiries. Attempts to locate him were unsuccessful.
On May 27, 2021, Ahmed was found aboard a ferry arriving at Holyhead from Ireland and was arrested at the scene. He was later charged with the assaults.
Ahmed, from Stephenson Street, Riverside, Cardiff, admitted to the charges. On January 21, 2025, he was sentenced at Cardiff Crown Court.
Detective Sergeant David Weatherhead commented, “Ahmed’s behavior was utterly unacceptable, and there is no place for it on the rail network. I applaud the victims for their bravery in coming forward to report these crimes.”
