As part of the ongoing “War against drugs,” Goraya police intensified their crackdown by arresting two drug peddlers and confiscating 120 intoxicating tablets.
DSP Sarwan Singh Bal of Phillaur reported that on June 29, during a routine patrol, a team led by Inspector Sikander Singh Virk, SHPO of Goraya, along with ASI Subhash Kumar of Dhuletta police post, apprehended the suspects at Bada Pind Dasehra Ground.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Manpreet Singh, alias Monu, from Dak Khana Road, Goraya, and Deepak Kumar, alias Deepa, from Krishna Colony, Goraya.
A thorough search of the suspects resulted in the recovery of 120 tablets. A case has been registered, and both accused have been presented in court to seek police remand for further investigation.
DSP Bal added that interrogation efforts will focus on dismantling the larger drug supply network and identifying additional individuals involved in the illicit drug trade across the region.
