In a swift action, Bhojpur Police on Sunday night arrested two out of six accused in the murder of Birju Ram (18), who was shot dead earlier the same day at Ambedkar Colony, under the jurisdiction of Town Police Station, Ara.
The arrested have been identified as:
Manoj Yadav
Pramod Yadav
Both are residents of Moti Tola locality in Ara. Raids are ongoing to apprehend the remaining four accused, according to a press release issued by the Superintendent of Police, Bhojpur.
Birju, the son of Sudama Ram, was allegedly targeted due to a long-standing enmity involving his elder brother, Vira Ram. Police believe that three armed men, intending to kill Vira, shot Birju instead when they did not find their original target. Birju tried to flee after being shot but was chased and gunned down again, sustaining three bullet injuries and dying on the spot near Sapna Cinema Mor.
Sources revealed a likely connection to a 2022 murder case of a local mechanic, Sushil Kumar, in which Vira Ram was named an accused. This suggests the current murder may have been an act of revenge.
Adding another layer to the motive, **Sudama Ram
