In a recent development in the ongoing investigation of the Tab Scam, a man has been arrested. The arrested individual, identified as Manoj Chowdhury, was apprehended by the Siliguri Cyber Crime police from the Baisnabnagar area of Malda.
According to police sources, Manoj Chowdhury was operating a Customer Service Point (CSP) in Malda, where it is alleged that he was involved in the scam under the guise of working at the CSP. Chowdhury is accused of embezzling funds that were intended for the purchase of tablets for 40 students in Siliguri.
The scam came to light when several students reported that the funds meant for their tablets had disappeared. Following this, the investigation led the Cyber Crime team to Baisnabnagar, where Chowdhury was arrested.
