The Criminal Investigation Department (CID), along with local police, conducted raids at two locations in Namkum following allegations of a large-scale job racket. An FIR has been filed against a dozen named accused, and one individual, Manish, has been arrested in connection with the scam.
Manish was reportedly responsible for conducting interviews of job aspirants, promising government jobs to youths from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand. The accused allegedly charged Rs 20,000 to Rs 40,000 from each aspirant after providing fake training within government departments.
Suspicion arose when one of the students lodged a complaint with the CID, leading to the discovery of approximately 300 trainees affected by the racket. Many victims came forward with complaints, seeking recovery of their money.
SP (Rural) Praveen Pushkar stated, “Further investigation is underway to determine the full extent of the crime and identify additional culprits if necessary. Victims of the racket will be assisted.”
A dozen trainers detained during the raid have since been released on bond.
