Manipur Police Arrest Three in Two-Wheeler Theft Gang

Stolen Bikes Recovered in Imphal, Some Gang Members Fugitive

Imphal, Manipur: Manipur Police have busted a two-wheeler theft gang involved in multiple vehicle thefts, arresting three individuals from different locations in the Imphal area over the past four days, officials said on Thursday.

The action followed a series of complaints regarding stolen two-wheelers. Special police teams traced the suspects, uncovered the gang’s network, and arrested those involved.

During the second phase of the operation, police arrested K. Robert (24) of Awang Khunou Mayai Leikai in Imphal West district and Md. Tomba (24) of Yairipok Phouden in Thoubal district from the Kanglapat area under Imphal Police Station. A red TVS Centra two-wheeler (registration AS-01-AA-4095), reportedly stolen earlier in the day from Kakhulong area, was recovered from their possession.

Earlier, Md. Sabir Khan alias Boboi (25), resident of Lilong Turel Khul in Thoubal district, was arrested from Tribal Market, New Lambulane, under Porompat Police Station in Imphal East district. A stolen Royal Enfield motorcycle was recovered from him.

Over the past four days, police have recovered two stolen two-wheelers in Imphal city. Authorities stated that some members of the gang remain absconding and urged citizens to stay vigilant and take precautions to safeguard their vehicles.
